WOWPOPO is a decentralized peer-to-peer communication technology. Messages, replies, and media travel end-to-end encrypted between devices — through a global swarm by default, or directly between phones in the same room when the people you read are nearby. No central server, no captive database, no single point of control.

Today's communication platforms are operated as private fiefdoms. A handful of companies hold the keys, the data, the ranking logic, and the right to evict — a structure that is not merely uncomfortable but structurally brittle. Single points of failure, opaque algorithms, captive identities, and arbitrary deplatforming are not bugs in the model; they are the model.
WOWPOPO inverts it. There is no central server. Every account is a cryptographic keypair the user holds, and every post is a content-addressed object that travels peer to peer through a swarm — each device fetches what its owner reads and seeds what its owner publishes. Private content is sealed end-to-end before it enters the swarm, so peers carry ciphertext, not contents. Identity signatures and key exchange combine classical primitives with post-quantum schemes in hybrid mode, so what you sign today remains verifiable and what you seal today remains sealed once quantum hardware arrives. Content is not stored in our database, because we don't run one. The network is the people who participate in it.
And when those people happen to be nearby, the network can collapse to the room itself. Phones speak directly over Bluetooth and local Wi-Fi without the public internet in the loop, so a feed keeps moving inside a venue, a campus, or a protest even when the wider connection is congested or absent. Place becomes a first-class signal — a feed can be filtered to the block, the building, or the city you are actually in — and the precise coordinates that decide what to show stay on the device, never on a server.

Each piece of WOWPOPO is engineered around a single principle: the user is the source of authority — not the platform, not us, not anyone in between.
Sovereign Identity
Cryptographic accounts. No email, no phone, no recovery hostage. Keys are generated on the user's device and never leave it without explicit consent.
The same identity moves intact across every WOWPOPO-compatible client and server. Your followers, your messages, your reputation — portable by default.
Peer-to-Peer Swarming
Messages, replies, and media propagate through a swarm of peers. Each device pulls what its owner is about to read and seeds what its owner has published — bandwidth and reach pooled across actual participants.
No central host stands between sender and reader. The path itself is the network — it grows denser, not slower, as more people join.
Content-Addressed Storage
Messages, media, and graphs are stored on distributed storage and addressed by the hash of their bytes. The address is a proof of integrity.
Nothing can be silently rewritten. A post you saw yesterday is bit-for-bit the post anyone resolves today, or it is a different post.
Creator Economics
Direct, programmable monetization between reader and creator. No platform middleman, no opaque revenue split, no surprise rule changes.
Tipping, subscriptions, and per-post unlocks are protocol-level primitives — not features locked inside one company's app.
Nearby & Offline
When the people you read are in the same room — or the same building, or the same block — devices speak directly over Bluetooth and local Wi-Fi. Messages travel without the public internet in the loop.
Conferences, classrooms, festivals, and protests all share one property: connectivity is the bottleneck, not the people. The conversation stays alive when the wider network does not.
Place-Aware Discovery
Messages may be tagged with a place at any granularity — a block, a venue, a neighborhood — and clients can pull what is being said where you are. Precise coordinates never need to leave the device.
Place becomes a discovery primitive, not a tracking vector. The graph is wide; the room you are in is narrow; you choose where to look.
End-to-End Encryption
Private messages and confidential messages are encrypted on the sender's device and decrypted only on the reader's. Peers in the swarm relay ciphertext only — there is no key in the middle to subpoena, leak, or lose.
What is published openly stays open; what is shared in confidence stays in confidence. The boundary is enforced by mathematics, not by a privacy policy.
Post-Quantum Ready
Identity signatures and key exchange combine classical primitives — Ed25519, X25519 — with post-quantum schemes such as ML-DSA and ML-KEM, in hybrid mode. A future quantum adversary cannot retroactively forge what was signed today.
Confidential traffic is hardened against the store-now-decrypt-later threat: an adversary who archives ciphertext today gains nothing when tomorrow's hardware arrives.
